With a tethered jailbreak for iOS 5 already out, some people might question what a Tethered and Un-tethered jailbreak are, here are your answers:
Tethered Jailbreak
If your iOS based device(iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch) has a tethered jailbreak and it reboots for some reason or its battery dies you will have to connect or tether your device back to your computer so that the hardware can boot up again with the aid of the jailbreak application, and you will have to do this EVERY TIME so you can understand how frustrating it can be.
Un-Tethered Jailbreak
An Un-Tethered Jailbreak device will simply never require you to plug you device for booting purposes after you have jailbroken it, which means if it reboots or die just charge it up and restart again.
